Welcome to Thrive!  I’m Scott Glassman, PsyD, a licensed psychologist who works with adults and adolescents using an evidence-based, collaborative approach to therapy that combines elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy and positive psychology. I am currently accepting new clients for telehealth therapy and invite you to explore whether my approach may be a good fit for your needs. My Clinical Approach

I work with adults, couples, and teens who want more than symptom relief—they want to feel grounded, confident, and inspired in their lives. My approach integrates evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and positive psychology, helping clients reduce anxiety, stress, and unhelpful thinking patterns while also building resilience, meaning, and well-being. Together, we identify what’s getting in the way, strengthen practical coping skills, and intentionally cultivate strengths. I often bring in practices around gratitude, self-compassion, and values exploration. Sessions are collaborative, structured, and supportive, with an emphasis on tools you can use in daily life. I only offer telehealth services for clients seeking thoughtful, growth-oriented therapy that supports both emotional healing and lasting personal flourishing.

What do you love about working with clients?

What I love most about working with clients is witnessing the moment when something clicks—when insight turns into self-compassion, confidence, or a new way of responding to life’s challenges. I’m deeply drawn to helping people recognize their strengths, challenge limiting patterns, and reconnect with what gives their lives meaning. It’s an honor to walk alongside clients as they grow, heal, and realize they’re more capable than they once believed.

Which diagnoses are you skilled at treating?
I am experienced in treating a range of mood, anxiety, and stress-related concerns. This includes anxiety disorders (such as generalized anxiety, panic, and social anxiety), depression and persistent low mood, stress and burnout, and adjustment-related difficulties during life transitions. I help clients lessen the impact of chronic stress and overcome challenges related to self-esteem, perfectionism, and unhelpful thinking patterns. In addition, I support clients managing grief and loss, relationship concerns, and concerns related to identity, meaning, and purpose.
Which client populations do you treat?

I work with adolescents (ages 13 and older), adults, and older adults across a wide range of life stages and backgrounds. Clients often include college students and young adults navigating identity development, relationships, academic or career stress, and life transitions; midlife adults managing burnout, caregiving responsibilities, health concerns, or shifts in purpose; and older adults adjusting to retirement, loss, or changing roles. I also work with professionals and high-achieving individuals seeking support around stress management, performance, balance, and well-being. Services are provided to individuals and, when appropriate, couples, with care tailored to each person’s developmental stage, goals, and lived experience.

What is your approach to therapy?

My approach to therapy is intentional, collaborative, and designed to support meaningful progress efficiently. Early work focuses on gaining a clear understanding of patterns, stressors, strengths, and areas that need care or reinforcement. From there, sessions follow a purposeful structure that balances reflection with skill-building, helping clients understand not just what they’re experiencing, but how to work with it. Growth is accelerated through thoughtful practice between sessions, where new strategies are applied in real-life contexts and then refined together. At the same time, I remain flexible and responsive—adapting positive psychology tools to address specific domains of nurturance such as emotional regulation, purpose, vitality, connection, or self-compassion—so therapy remains both personalized and relevant as clients’ needs evolve.

Why did you become a therapist?
I became a therapist because I believe deeply in people’s capacity to grow, heal, and flourish through supportive relationships. It happens most often when they feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. Early on in my psychology education, I was drawn to how we can become better listeners. I also spent a considerable amount of time learning about mindfulness, motivation, and purpose-driven living. I’m drawn to the person-centered, Rogerian way of being with others—offering presence, empathy, and respect as the foundation for change—while also integrating evidence-based tools that support resilience and well-being.
What’s important to know about your practice?

My practice is designed to provide thoughtful, evidence-based psychological care in a setting that is collaborative, respectful, and transparent. I aim to create a therapeutic relationship grounded in clarity—about how I work, what you can expect, and the practical details of engaging in therapy.

I provide individual therapy via secure telehealth for adults and adolescents located in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and other PSYPACT-participating states. Due to licensing regulations, I am not able to provide therapeutic services to individuals residing in the following states: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Montana, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico.

My practice operates on a private-pay basis, with payment due on the day services are provided. The fee for a 60-minute individual therapy session is $175. The initial consultation fee is a separate service and is also $175. I do not accept insurance and do not submit claims or provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. This model allows me to focus fully on your goals and the therapeutic process, without the administrative constraints of insurance-based care.

I value clear boundaries and shared responsibility in the therapeutic relationship. This includes transparent communication about fees, scheduling, and practice policies, as well as a mutual commitment to using our time together intentionally and productively.
